Last Chance City Rules

As a team of passionate roleplay enthusiasts, Last Chance City is dedicated to celebrating the RP community. We’re committed to enhancing your SecondLife experience. As such, we are putting into place some rules that will help all of our players have a fair and fun time any time they are in Last Chance. Please continue reading below for more information on rules.

1) No gestures allowed on SIM

We know that not many people use gestures anymore but this still needs to be said. A single incidence of accidental gesture use will not get you banned but multiple occurrences of gesture use will not be allowed and may result in a warning, then a temporary ban, then a permanent ban for repeated offenders. The reason for this is because gestures tend to ruin a scene and break the mood.

2) Whatever the admin team says, goes

Meaning their word(s) is/are final. We are open to discussion, thoughts, concerns, etc., but when a ruling has been put into place, we ask that our players abide by whatever the outcome of that ruling is. We are here to help you, the roleplayers, to have fun in a fair and immersive environment.

3) We do not use combat HUDs or combat dice

That doesn't mean that you and your roleplay partner can't use dice if you'd like, only that we don't enforce it. There is, however, an expected give and take in any combat scene.

Action posting RP for combat has many different forms. Keeping it simple, however, is the best thing anyone can do. This allows the combat to transition through roleplay and stay fluid. Please only have two (2) actions per post. This can be many things.

ex. Say Harry wants to fight Larry. Harry would start the fight with an attempt to strike Larry. Larry, in his post, would then get to choose how he responds. He can block and attempt an attack OR he can take the hit and attempt an attack. He can attempt to run away, as well, after an attempted dodge or attempted block, but only two actions are allowed per post while in combat. One (1) defensive and one (1) offensive.

4) All characters MUST be 18 years old or older!

There are no exceptions to this rule! Underage characters are against the TOS of Secondlife in an Adult or Moderate rated SIM.

5) No animals on SIM

Only human avatars are allowed on sim. No furries, no fantasy, no animals (unless your power is to shift into an animal). This also includes animesh animal attachments. It is next to impossible for real animals to get into the city due as most have been hunted down to near extinction. Any animals that were in the city when it began would have already died or are too feral to keep as pets.

6) Pregnancy

Pregnancy, at this point, is not allowed unless you've come from outside the wall. At no point does this mean we allow child avis on the SIM.

There is a lore-specific reason as to why characters can not get pregnant at this time if you've been taken and thrown into the city rather than walked in through the broken wall.

Be aware that, at any given time, should pregnancy happen, it would need to be hidden. Naturally born children are rare. The Others would likely come and take the child if it were discovered. If they do not take the child, it would need to be hidden until the age of 18 years of age (i.e. when they would be able to be a playable character as per rule #4).

We are not trying to limit anyone's RP. As a dark theme roleplay sim, however, it is just not the right environment for children.

We DO NOT for any reason allow baby/child avatars or prims. Cute as they are, it's a no!

7) Weapons

Guns -  You can find guns or say you came into the city with a gun so long as you walked into the city through the hole in the wall and not through the subway. The Others would have taken any arms from you before throwing you into the walled City if you came in via the subway. Any/All gun use will be strictly monitored by the admins. If you abuse this privilege of being able to use a gun that privilege will be taken from you.

Knives - These are okay but it has to be something that you created. IE glass shards, etc.

Melee Weapons - Crowbars, pipes, wood boards, bats, etc are okay and used primarily.

Explosives -Admin approval is a MUST!

8) Drugs

Drugs are limited.

Weed is the most common drug that can be found. It can only be purchased at the motel through a player or NPC character. The amount of weed you can purchase is limited, so keep it real. When it comes to smoking it... well, sometimes it's just weed, sometimes it's laced, and sometimes it's not weed at all. The Others like to play games with those of Last Chance City so beware.

That does not mean you can not try to grow a plant here or there, however, just remember that the contaminated water and contaminated soil results in crop corruption. Because the water is toxic, so is anything that grows in Last Chance City.

Chemical drugs, healthy or unhealthy, would be near impossible to come across unless you happened upon them through an airdrop. Any medications in airdrops will be fought for.

9) Limited Items

These items are around. But can not be used.

Cell phones - Although you may find one, it will never charge, even if it did. Good luck finding a signal there is no cell service!

Electrical appliances - DO NOT WORK! Even in places with electricity, it would be uncommon to use this on ovens, toasters, etc...Some fridges may have power, but that's about it. You must RP out fixing these items for them to work.

Medicine - can be obtained through airdrops with admin approval. There are healers on SIM who will do their best with what they have... Don't forget to bring the booze and best of luck!

10) Powers

Although powers are allowed, so long as you've apped in for them and been approved, we do have a rule about using them. You must have OOC permission from anyone you are using your powers against, especially if it's a mental power. You still must use attempts and not auto hits. God moding is not allowed.
